This picture of Britney Spears is a mid long shot to show off her body. Her costume is a black bra with a white shirt that is undone to flaunt her body and she also has a pair of pink underwear with black polka dots. Her image is being shown as a very young sexy teenager and she is appealing to the male audience.
The props that are being used are a teletubbie and a telephone. The teletubbie represents that she is still young at heart as the toy is mainly for young children and the telephone is a stereo type of young teenagers who spend hours on the phone talking to their friends and this also lets people know that she is a young typical teenager. The Mise En Scene is of Britney lying down on a bed with pink satin sheets, this connotates that the setting is very grown up as it is usually adults who would mainly use satin sheets so this may represent Britney trying to let her audience know that she is growing up. The colours that are used in this magazine are pink, white, and purple. These pink is the main colour of the magazine and this is a typical young girl’s colour and the title is in purple because it stands out from the rest of the magazine cover. The intertextual references being made in this magazine cover is of Lolita. Lolita is a young seductive 14 year old girl who tries to act older. So Britney is copying the image of Lolita as she is a young girl also and also is trying to act older but still young at heart.
